  • Itinerary


    DAY 1 :

    Cusco – Tinki

    At a designated hour, we will collect you at the meeting point and leave Cusco city to drive you to Tinki.   During our journey to Tinki we will stop to get some pictures specially from the colorful market of Urcos as well as from agriculture village of Cattca where its valley views will captive us.

    The bus trip will take us 6 hours to complete and before getting to our final destination we will pass by Ocongate which half hour from Tinki village.  Most of our today journey is to get prepared for next morning when we will began our Ausangate Trek 7 Days adventure. 

    At our arrival to Tinki we will be getting prepared to set our first campsite and rest well to carry on our trek of next morning. 

    DAY 2 :

    Tinki - Pacchanta – Qomerqocha Lagoon

    After taking a delicious breakfast, we will share some time with the people of Tinki, showing our gratitude for allowing us to stay in their grounds.  We will be visiting the local school and provide local supplies as a kind gesture.  Finished our visit to Tinki village, we will begin our trek towards Pacchanta (4100m/13451ft) community.   At Pacchanta, we will have our lunch and have the chance in using the hot springs that are dated from Inca times.  This is  relaxing time in which you will have breathtaking views of Ausangate Mountain. 

    The Ausangate Trek 7 Days will lead us to do a climbing effort to get up to Pacchanta valley, At this valley will be spotting llamas and alpacas, until we reach the beautiful Qomercocha lagoon, where we will camp and have dinner.

    This is a spectacular spot with amazing panoramic views of the Ausangate, Santa Catalina, Maria Huamantiqlla, Pucapunta and Colquecruz snow-capped mountains which beauty it will take your breath away.

    DAY 3 :

    Qomerqocha Lagoon – Yanamayo

    Out of Ausangate Trek 7 Days we will leave the campsite at 07:00 am and head to pass the first mountain the Abra de Q´ampa (5000m/16404 ft).   We need to walf for around 4 hours to get to  the pass point in which we after will be descending towards the Ticllaqocha Lagoons.  The  Ticllaqocha Lagoons is a beautiful group of little turquoise lagoons which it will be worthy to admire.  We will have a break after all our effort in getting here and also have some lunch to get more energy.

    Another 3 hours of hiking will be waiting for us, aiming to reach Yanamayo, an amazing locations to set our camp of this impressive valley.  We will be overlooking the grand Tres Picos, Colquecruz and Pucapunta peaks

    DAY 4 :

    Yanamayo – Condorpaso

    After getting our breakfast, we will get ready and carry on our Ausangate Trek 7 Days with direction to Yanacocha or 'Black Lagoon'. The name of the lagoon, comes after its dark water colours of Volcanic origin.  We will notice also moraines as a proof of existent glaciers in this region.  We will hiking all the way up until we pass its peak at 5,050 m o 16, 568 ft.  In front of us an amazing and extended beautiful valley of an spectacular mountain colours together with three spectacular lagoons and the presence of llamas and alpacas.  We will have some time to admire all this natural gift for our eyes.

    Later on our trail will lead us to our next mountain pass at 5, 100m or 16, 732 ft, know as a  Condorpaso.  We are aiming to set our campsite close to Condor mountain pass until the next day. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included.

    DAY 5 :

    Condorpaso - Source Of Sibinacocha Lake

    Today on our Ausangate Trek 7 Day, the plan is to climb a bit higher, around 2 hours of trekking in direction to pass Abra del Condor mountain.  You will need to be focus on the trail and keep your walking pace to stay with the group.  At some point we will be reaching Abra del Condor at 5,200m or 17,060 ft, The views are simply spectacular of the Vilcanota mountain range and the Sibinacocha Lagoon.  The natural surroundings of the valley will captivate you as we are continuing our hiking for another 3 hours.   

    At some point of this  Ausangate Trek 7 Days,  we will get to another mountain pass and soon descending into the valley of the Lake Sibinacocha’s source.  We will find a spot to set up our campsite, having the magnificent views of a glacier stands nourishing the lake with its turquoise waters that contrast with the pure dark blue color of the lagoon.  This lagoon boasts with a wide bio-diversity and host Andean Geese, as well as Andean Ducks.

    Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included.

    DAY 6 :

    Source Of Sibinacocha Lagoon – Ccascara

    Soon will be completing our  Ausangate Trek 7 Days,  this time we will be walking along the shores of the Sibinacocha lagoon.  Our hike will take us around  three hours getting on the way to the community of Yayamari.  The community of Yayamari sets alongside the mountain of the same name. It is an impressive rocky peak overlooking the lagoon at an impressive 5, 500m or 18, 044 ft above sea level.

    Our hike is taking us to diverse valleys, and cross a pampa too.  During this day of the trek,   we will see hundreds of llamas, alpacas and vicuñas.  Passing the pampa, we will head towards the Abra Ccascana at 5,000m/ 16, 404 ft,  and to a lagoon with the same name.

    At Abra Ccascaram, we set up our last camp, where once again we feel immerse in full Andean nature with impressive snow-capped peaks of Montura and Chumpi inhabited by small rural communities.

    Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included.

    DAY 7 :

    Ccascara – Phinaya - Cusco

    Finally we are getting to the last day of our  Ausangate Trek 7 Days.

    Our cook will take care of us with a daily early breakfast and as soon you finish,  we will be leaving Ccascara village.  Our hike of three and a half hours will lead us to he Andean community of Phinaya.  On this tiny villages, there is a beautiful cosy church, no presence of vehicles except for bikes and horses. Finished exploring the surroundings of the Village, we will get  in the afternoon our transport and get back to Cusco.

    Breakfast and lunch are included.

    Campsites are subject to changes according to our guide's criteria and group progress.

    *IMPORTANT*: A pre-trek briefing is held at our office or at your hotel (whichever is preferred) the night before your trek at 6pm or 7pm (exact time to be confirmed).

     

    Attractions we will visit

    Pacchanta, Is an Andean community who lives near the snowy Ausangate mountain, at a height of 4,200 meters above sea level.  The community is dedicated to the breeding of alpacas and agriculture. Pacchanta community, use fiber of the alpaca, to prepare their clothes and their tools, and use the meat to feed themselves. They live in a rural from generation to generation and that reflects their customs, traditions and relationship with the nature.

     

    Pacchanta valley, located at 4,200 meters above sea level is where the llamas and alpacas live freely in nature, this valley also is home of the beautiful Qomercocha lagoon.

     

    Abra de Q´ampa, located at 5,000 meters / 16,400 feet. We will see several lagoons of different colors and have the opportunity to appreciate the Apu Ausangate snow-capped, as well as a view of the whole valley.

     

    Yanamayo,  A small village located in the district of Pitumarca, Province of Canchis, in the Cusco region.

     

    Yanacocha or 'Black Lagoon', Is a lake located in the Cusco Region, Urubamba Province, Huaylllabamba District at 3,951 metres (12,963 ft). Yanacocha as well as the nearby lakes named Chaquicocha and Kellococha (Quechua for "yellow lake") are known for its woods of polylepis. It is situated high up on the mountain named Chaquicocha.

     

    Condorpaso, lies beyond one more even higher pass (5100m/ 16728 ft.).

     

    Abra del Condor, A mountain pass ‘Abra del Cóndor’(5.200m/17.060pies), where you will see natural wildlife such as  Llamas, Vicunas and  Alpacas.

     

    Sibinacocha lagoon,  Located at the foot of the Vilcanota mountain range, with an average altitude of 4869 m and surface of 30 km² being one of the largest lakes of greatest height. It is fed by the glaciers of the Chumpe and Tres peaks of the Cordillera Vilcanota.

     

    Abra Ccascana, located at 5,000 m above the sea level which will lead to the lake of the same name.
