Like the Inca did his pilgrimage with his court to Machu Picchu you will also form part of this spiritual journey. The impressive Inca roads that unified the Tahuantinsuyo Empire ruled by the Inca, expanded to what we now know as Ecuador, south of Colombia, Bolivia, north and centre of Chile and north west of Argentina over a 40,000 kilometers of roads.

This is an amazing experience for you to embark on an 5 Day Inca Trail, and your efforts in doing this it will be rewarded.
The meeting point will be at Regocijo Plaza in city centre between 4:00 and 4:30 am unless stated otherwise in the briefing, we will be there to leave on time Cusco city.
We will be heading to ‘Piskacucho’ but before that our first stop will be at Ollantaytambo on the way to the Sacred Valley and get there our breakfast. Finished our first stop, we will continue until we get to ‘Piskacucho’ and get our check in. We will need to show our passport, student ID, tickets, etc to a control point. Remember there is a limited access to the Inca Trail.
Before embarking into our 5 Day Inca Trail, will do some check up and getting organized (use of the restrooms, applying sunscreen, insect repellent, etc) . We have ahead a marvellous Inca Valley, and the Inca itself and its royal crown, used this 5 Day Inca Trail, as pilgrimage route to get to Machu Picchu. Now, you are so lucky in tracing the Inca steps all the way of what it was for them a meaningful sacred journey.
The 5 Day Inca Trail, begins at 2,720m / 8,923 ft and we will be heading across the Vilcanota River on the right side and meanwhile walking, listening the crumble of its waters. Like a dramatic opening of a concert, the music will decide the right moment to star our 'overture' as the wind, and nature will be there to delight us to the most. But the path soon begins to climb steeply through cloud forest, on the flat stones of the original Inca track
In time will spot the great views of an Inca Fortress called 'Huillca Raccay', as well as the vast and incredible Incan site of 'Patallacta'. Also we will see the Urubamba mountain range that divides the jungle, the Andes and the beautiful snow-capped peak of 'W'akay Willca' at 5, 860m /19,225 ft, known as Veronica.
There was so much beauty to admire on this first day out of the 5 Day Inca Trail, an incredible encounter with the Andean nature. Now we will set up our first campsite near the small village of Wayllabamba 3, 000m / 9, 842ft in the temperate green valley of the same name. Temperatures at night are around 5ºC (depending on the month).
Breakfast: is not included on this day.
The total distance to be cover on the second day of the 5 Day Inca Trail 16 km (8 to 9 hours more or less).
The Inca Trail was a pilgrimage route to the glory, so you and the group will start having a better understanding of such feeling. The grandiosity of the scenery which was part of the former Inca Empire will make you feel special. During the 5 Day Inca Trail private service, there will plenty time to answer as many questions you will have during your journey.
Our breakfast will be ready in time, and as you notice our cook take care of us on a daily basis. We do appreciate the cook input during this trekking, so we can get ready quickly when the times comes to leave the campsite, in the early hours of the morning.
There is a high steep ascent which it will take us some hours to achieve. For the Inca and its royal crown, it was a time to feel the blessings of the highland because as a pilgrimage route, a sacred one, this will be a time to get closer to the Apus (mountains) or Gods protecting the Andes. Our highest pass will be at Abra de Warrmihuañusca or 'Dead Woman's Pass' at 4,200 m / 13,779 ft.
You will realise, you need to have a degree of physical fitness to do the The Inca Trail, it is challenging because you are hiking on a high altitude level. The good news, is that our team of guides, are an experience ones and they do understand that in order to achieve the end of the Inca trail, you need to have a strong mind set. Thus. we will be there to encourage you to finish this 5 Day Inca Trail.
It was hard, it was fantastic and out this world to see such beautiful views. It is not an easy task to get this far here. We will have a rest and enjoy the view from the top.
Our lunch stop will be at Pacaymayu at 3, 550m /11,646 ft and we will be able to see lots of hummingbirds as well as other birds species. Also we will appreciate an incredible variety of native plants, trees such as the ´Polylepis´ which grow in the cloud forest located at 3,650m /11,972ft.
After lunch, we will encounter another begins two hour steep climb to Runkuraqay pass at almost 4,000m and set up our campsite by 5 pm.
Temperatures at this campsite are around 4ºC during the nights.
Cover distance: At the end of this third day 10 km or 5 hours.
There is few things you want to do in life and keep it with you closer in your memories. This is one of them.
Another day full of adventure, it seems you want more, and more days like the one you achieve the day before. There is a feeling that nothing can not stop you now. This 5 Day Inca Trail, does make you feel like this, an amazing moment and unique on its kind.
Our hero in the morning time: our cook, who will be very attentive in serving your daily breakfast and with it to gain lots of needed energy. We set ready to leave at 06:00 am will start with a gentle climb to visit the archaeological site of 'Phuyupatamarca' meaning 'Town in the Clouds' and reach the third highest point on the trail 3, 680 m.
The views of the mountains, canyons and surrounding areas are spectacular! As we are walking to our third pass out of this 5 Day Inca Trail. The Inca site of 'Phuyupatamarca' will show up to please our curiosity and after visiting this site, we continue walking 3,000 steps through the cloud forest at the impressive agricultural Inca site of 'Intipata'. Later on during our trail we will arrive at our third campsite Wiñay Wayna at 2, 680m/8, 792 ft.
We have walked so far between up to 5 hours approx and we will arrive to camp by lunch time. A short distance from our campsite is located the Inca site of the same name 'Wiñay Wayna' or 'Forever Young' which is a must to visit now we are close to the ruins.
Temperatures during the night are about 12º C.
Total distance to be covered: 5km or 3mi. (2 hours more or less).
You can imagine when the Inca and its crown was reaching his royal settlements. First living the meaning of it on this spiritual journey, than entering to the temple and to be welcome by a selected group of servants more less 750 people. The Inca, was considered son of 'Inti' (The Sun) and only him and its royal crown was allow to use this part of the trail. This final part of the trail represents the glory and enjoyment of his royal house, Machu Picchu.
It is 5:30 am and after your final breakfast, we are ready to leave the campsite. On this early start, we have need to get to 'Inti Punku' ('Sun gate') (2,730 m / 8,792 ft) before sunrise. A this spot, you will have your first fantastic view of Machu Picchu (2,400m / 7,873 ft with the sun rising over it. We will spend some time here to take in the impressive views of the ancient city. Once we feel is time to move on, we will walk down the last part of the 5 Day Inca Trail to a location where you can take a picture of Machu Picchu behind you. This is a classic picture that you will share among your friends, as a postcard shot of this ancient city. Finally, we visit Machu Picchu.
Our guide will provide you with a couple of hours tour and show you the most important parts of this ancient city. Afterwards, you will have some time to explore this mystic city by yourselves and meet your guide in Aguas Calientes once you finish exploring Machu Picchu.
We will have a lunch in Aguas Calientes, and check in at our hotel to pass the night. You can also some time to relax at the hot springs.

Our guide will provide you with final departure time information from Aguas Calientes to Cusco city. We will be aiming to leave Aguas Calientes during the afternoon time by train to Ollantaytambo. At our arrival to this village a representative from Valencia Travel Cusco will welcome us and transfer us to a private bus, continuing our journey to Cusco city.
