On the first day of our Manu tour 3 days, we will pick you up very early from your hotel or meeting point. This first day, of our journey, it will take us through the majestic Andean mountains that boasts heaps of flora and fauna typical of the Andean mountains. We will see on this route birdlife such as mountain Cacara, Puna Ibis and the Andean flicker.
On our way to the forest, we will see the pre-Inca Lupaca culture burial towers before arriving at the colonial-era village of Paucartambo. The village of Paucartambo, is the gateway to the forests of Manu for centuries and here we will visit some colonial buildings.
Finished our break, we will be continuing our Manu tour 3 days, leaving Paucartambo and travelling until we get to Acjanaco Pass (3,850 meters / 12,630 feet) this is the entrance to Manu National Park. From this location we will have the views of the Amazon basin and below us the road that will takes us down through Andean grasslands and into the cloud forest.
The ecosystem on this side of the region is rich in flora and fauna such as the habitat of the cock-of-the-rock, crested and golden quetzals, blue-crowned motmots, gray breasted mountain toucans and many species of butterflies, ferns and orchids. At the end of this unique trip, you will spend your first night in our comfortable Paradise Lodge, in the heart of the Amazon cloud forest (1,470 meters / 4,821 feet).
