River Rafting and Ziplining at Chuquicahuana

Pay attention adrenaline junkies! This full-day rafting adventure is perfect for you. If you want a day of fun on the Urubamba River, our day trip from Cusco combines rafting and ziplining from the excellent Cusipata River Lodge. Enjoy the beautiful scenery as we drive you to our starting point on the majestic river. So if you want a break from the wonderful ruins and historical sites of the Cusco Region, and want to combine an adrenaline-filled activity with nature, join us for a day of white water fun on the Chuquicahuana section of the Urubamba River!
Our day begins when we pick you up from your hotel in Cusco at around 8:30 a.m. We’ll then drive by private transport for about 1.5 hours until we reach the Cusipata River Lodge, where we can stretch our legs, use some of the facilities and leave any bags or personal items. Our professional river guides will give you a safety talk and explain the handful of commands used while rafting. They will also provide the necessary equipment: helmet, wetsuit, spray jacket, paddles, and, of course, your self-bailing raft.
We’ll then drive for 10 minutes to our starting point on the Chuquicahuana section of the Urubamba River. Setting off downriver, we’ll have plenty of fun as we navigate adrenalin-pumping Class III and III+ rapids with standing waves and holes. Your raft will be accompanied by a safety kayaker, keeping you safe throughout the trip. Our rafting adventure lasts about two hours, and we’ll pass through spectacular scenery as we make our way downriver.
Once we’ve finished rafting, we’ll return to Cusipata River Lodge where we’ll have a tasty lunch. You can also jump in the sauna before we move on to the next part of our trip: ziplining. There are two ziplines over the Vilcanota River, each about 120 meters long. It’s a great way to end the day, and in the afternoon we’ll pack up and return to Cusco, tired but happy after our day of outdoor adventure.
