The Arequipa Countryside is a highly attractive area surrounded by pre-Incan terraces, the Chili River, and the three volcanoes: Misti, Chachani, and Pichu Pichu. On our Campiña excursion, we will visit a colonial rural mill built in 1621 and explore traditional villages like Sabandía and Paucarpata. We will walk through the rooms of the Founder's House and enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the Chili River and the agricultural areas. We will also witness the stunning volcanoes from the historic Iron Bridge, built in 1871, from the Sachaca Viewpoint.
We will collect you from your hotel at the prearranged time to visit the “Chilina Valley” where we can appreciate Arequipa‘s agricultural terraces and enjoy the view of the Chili River and Misti volcano. We will continue the tour by visiting Paucarpata traditional town and then visit the “Molino de Sabandia “(Sabandia mill), built in 1785 which still maintains the old traditional architectural style of Arequipa city. After our Mill visit, our transportation will take us to the most significant residence of Arequipa city, La “Mansion del Fundador“, (Founder´s House) built purely of Sillar volcanic stone.
Next, we will drive toward the “Sachaca viewpoint “to enjoy a spectacular view over the city, an excellent location to take some impressive photos of Arequipa with its three volcanoes.
We will conclude the excursion by driving through the “Puente de Fierro “(the Iron Bridge), designed by the famous French architect, Gustavo Eiffel in 1882.
After the tour, we’ll return you to your hotel, or if you prefer, drop you off at a nearby restaurant or in the city center. The tour includes comfortable transportation, a certified professional guide, and entrance fees to all the sites visited.
