The Cusco Planetarium is located in the Laullipata Forest. This is a private eco-tourism area near the Sacsayhuaman archaeological site above Cusco. The dark skies at this Cusco attraction are perfect for stargazing. You’ll learn all about how the Incas saw the cosmos and why it was so important to them.
On this tour from Cusco, we will see the universe in a whole new and unique way. Whether you are a lifelong fan of astronomy or a newcomer to the wonders of space, our Cusco Planetarium trip has something for everyone.
We’ll pick you up at 5:40 p.m. from Plaza Regocijo and drive you up to the planetarium. Your cosmic experience will begin with a talk about Inca astronomy, with a virtual projection of the southern sky on the planetarium dome showing Inca constellations and those that we know today. Afterwards, if it’s not too cloudy, you can take a look at the night sky through the planetarium’s three powerful telescopes and an astronomical binocular. After this, we’ll return to Cusco at around 8 p.m!
