Our Origin & Mission

Our Purpose

At Valencia Travel Cusco, our purpose is simple yet powerful: to connect lives through the transformative power of travel. Every journey we create is an invitation to build a global community of travelers, one that is free from fear, enriched by diversity, and deeply aware of our shared responsibility for a sustainable future.

With over 16 years of experience, we are proud to be passionate local experts, rooted in the rich traditions and landscapes of Peru. We share our country’s natural wonders with authenticity and care, creating moments that go beyond sightseeing, moments that connect cultures, inspire understanding, and leave a lasting, positive impact on everyone we meet.

Our Philosophy

We believe that travel, when done sustainably and with conscience, has the power to transform the world and bring cultures closer together. Every journey is an opportunity to foster understanding, respect, and shared humanity.

That’s why we are dedicated to preserving the magic of Peru’s local communities, its wildlife, and the planet we all share. Our goal is to pass on not only our own knowledge but also the wisdom of the people who call these lands home, so that together, we can help create a better, more connected world.

Health of the Population

Peru is blessed with an incredible heritage of superfoods – nutrient – rich ingredients that have nourished our people for centuries. Yet today, many of these traditional eating habits are being replaced by less healthy alternatives, especially among children. At Valencia Travel, we want to ensure that our communities continue to grow strong, healthy, and proud of their culinary heritage.

How We Contribute

  • Promoting traditional diets based on local superfoods such as quinoa, kiwicha, cañihua, maca, yacón, chestnuts, carob, sacha inchi, giant Cusco corn, purple corn, camu camu, custard apple, soursop, lucuma, mangoes, grapes, and tangerines.
  • Incorporating at least 25% of these superfoods into the meals we provide to our travelers, allowing visitors to experience Peru’s flavors in a healthy and authentic way.
  • Sharing knowledge with Andean communities through training sessions and workshops that encourage the preservation of ancestral culinary traditions.
  • Promoting healthy eating to both Peruvians and international visitors, raising awareness of the power of these foods to improve wellbeing and quality of life.

For us, food is more than sustenance , it’s a connection to culture, a celebration of biodiversity, and a vital part of building a healthier future for Peru and the world.

Community Philanthropy

At Valencia Travel, we believe tourism should go hand in hand with giving back to the communities that make our journeys possible. For us, philanthropy is not a seasonal act — it’s an ongoing commitment to bringing hope, dignity, and opportunity to the people of the Andes.

Christmas in Waca Punku

One of our most cherished traditions is our annual visit to the Waca Punku community, a group of villages nestled high in the mountains, about three hours from Cusco. Every year, our team dresses in Santa Claus costumes and brings joy to children and families, ensuring that Christmas is celebrated with warmth and cheer.

Valencia Travel allocates 5% of our total tourist packages to support this community. While we know this doesn’t solve all the daily challenges they face, it allows us to share smiles, ease burdens, and make the holiday season brighter.

We deliver:

  • Essential groceries such as rice, beans, bread, and cookies. h
  • Plastic-free gifts like handmade toys, notebooks, pencils, and sweets — each one age-appropriate and chosen with care.

We also invite our travelers to join this effort by bringing small, lightweight items in their luggage — things as simple as T-shirts, socks, caps, shoes, or educational materials like notebooks, pens, rulers, and calculators. These thoughtful contributions, even second-hand if clean and in good condition, are deeply appreciated.

Supporting Our Porters and Their Families

For more than nine years, Valencia Travel has worked alongside incredible porters on the Inca Trail.
To honor their hard work, we have organized social support initiatives for the last three years, sharing basic food, coats, and supplies with their families in the communities they call home.

Our philanthropic efforts extend across multiple Andean communities, including:
