We will walk through the city´s plazas to the Santa Catalina Convent, where architectural beauty and Spanish influence are inseparable. Make sure you sample some of the exquisite Arequipan cuisine for which the city is famous.
The road to Colca Canyon winds through highland pampas and volcanic landscapes as we climb in elevation. We will pass through the Aguada Blanca National Reserve, where life thrives at altitude. Alpacas, vicuñas, and a chorus of birds remind you how Peruvian land breeds diversity and unique species. This route is a highlight of any private magical Peru tour, designed for connection to the environment and all that live here.
Today, the Colca Canyon shows us what the region is all about. Lookout points over sheer drops are where Condors glide on the thermals. The canyon landscape islike a painting brushed by wind and time. After these incredible moments, our magical Peru tour continues toward Puno, the Peruvian capital of folklore. Located on the shores of Lake Titicaca, you can see where sky and water merge in the serenity of the largest navigable lake on the planet.
Today is a full day on the magnificent Lake Titicaca. Lake Titicaca feels like a sassy stretch of ocean with different living cultures on each one of its many islands. On the floating reed islands of the Uros, you will step onto spongy totora and meet the local families who build and rebuild their homes with the same material that their ancestors have done for centuries. Listen and learn from these local inhabitants. We then head to Taquile Island, famous for its traditional weaving. The intricate designs and patterns tell stories of community, ecology, and belonging woven into the cloth. We will have lunch on the island and then return to the port in Puno for an evening in the folkorical capital.
Today is a travel day with a difference. As the road winds toward Cusco, we willstop at points like Pukara, Raqchi, and Andahuaylillas, each one filled with its own history. These Pueblitos offer insight into Andean culture still alive in this part of Peru. Their stones, artwork, clay figurines, and water channels speak of how ancestral belief systems and daily life have intertwined over centuries. The scenery as we leave the altiplano is mindblowing on this trip, and the Andes mountains show us what they are all about at the different elevations in the Puna. On arrival in Cusco, we will drop you at your hotel in the Inca capital.
Today, in Cusco, you will begin your exploration of the city where the Inca heart once ruled the lands. We will visit the Koricancha, the temple of the sun, with immense and still visible stones. The colonial cathedral on the Plaza de Armas is an eccentric blend of catholocism and Andean belief systems. At Sacsayhuamán, massive stones rise with a precision that defies time itself. In each plaza and temple ruin, you can actually feel the pulse of a cultural view of the world that saw humans as part of a larger sacred circuit. One earth, planets, sky, and community united. After our visit to the local ruins, we will head back to the city on this Magical Peru tour.
A full day in the Sacred Valley is where the sun’s path and the help of the Incas. created agricultural wisdom in the terraces. Even today, this is a part of Peru that showcases authentic living traditions that have changed very little over the years. Local markets burst with color, and community nuances continue at Pisac. Then, there are ancient water channels that still shapes how people relate to land and Mother Earth. Pisac, Ollantaytambo, and market towns are the order of the day on this immersive day in the Sacred Valley on your family-friendly magical Peru tour.
This morning, you board the train that follows the Vicanota River and curves toward the cloud forest. The train ride itself feels like the river and mountains, pulling you closer to the hidden city of Machu Picchu. Aguas Calientes is the town below the Inca citadel on the border between mountain and jungle. Geographically, the area is incredible, and that’s before you visit the Inca city above! Explore Aguas Calientes and get an early night before our Machu Picchu visit in the morning!
Today is an early morning on this private magical Peru tour. We will take the bus up to Machu Picchu an hour before your entrance time. The shuttle bus climbs through mist and green to the entrance gate at Machu Picchu. Your guide will explain about how this Inca city is aligned with celestial events, and how terraces echo Andean cosmology. Walking these pathways around the archaeological site is an invitation to be present and really feel this astounding Inca site. When our tour is over, we will take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes and then our train back to Cusco at the appropriate time.
Today, we leave Cusco behind, you cross an invisible división from the Andes mountains to the silence of the rainforest shaped by water, and animal sounds. After your flight to Puerto Maldonado, we continue by river, where the roads disappear, and the rainforest takes over.
As our boat moves deeper into the jungle, the forest begins to speak. With birds calling, insects humming, and leaves rustling overhead. On arrival at our Amazon lodge in Madre de Dios, you will become part of a world where life moves at the pace of the river.
In the afternoon, your first guided expedition introduces you to the rainforest as a living system, with medicinal plants, towering trees, and unparalleled wildlife opportunities. Night falls quickly in the jungle. After dinner, the jungle awakens when different species come out to play.
Today is not about “seeing everything” — it’s about learning how to see. At dawn, before the heat of the day, the forest is alive with movement. Early excursions will take you along riverbanks or shaded trails where the wildlife is most active. Your guide will help you read subtle signs of life, such as broken branches, distant calls, tracks in the earth. Nothing here shouts for attention, and everything rewards patience. Later, you will learn how Amazonian communities understand the rainforest here. Plants are introduced not by their Latin names, but quechua names, by what they heal, what they protect, and what they teach us. This is slow travel in its truest form.
After dinner, a night walk reveals a hidden world with glowing eyes in the darkness, insects with improbable shapes, and the quiet reminder that humans are visitors here in this part of the world.
Your final day in the Amazon is about immersion into the rainforest. Early morning activities are all about time spent simply sitting, listening, and absorbing. The Amazon doesn’t perform on demand, but it invites you to be still. The return journey begins quietly as the river carries you back toward Puerto Maldonado. The Amazon doesn’t ask to be conquered It asks only that you remember it exists in a vast, alive, and essential way. From here, you continue on to Lima for your final night in Peru and for your onward flight the next day.
Today is the time to say goodbye, at least for now, as your private transfer takes you to the airport and your onward flight. Your main souvenir from these 15 days is a sense of context, culture, and connection with a Peruvian insight that few people get to experience. Until the next time… hasta Luego!
